After a first moment of hesitation, most small and medium enterprises are investing in the training and development of their personnel, to be ready for the fourth industrial revolution.

One of the main obstacles for Industry 4.0 in Italy is the lack of specific, important skills of the workforce. To win this obstacle, after some years in stand-by, small and medium Italian enterprises have started investing in training.

The Observatory Industry 4.0 of the School of Management of Politecnico University of Milano has recently published the results of a research stressing the needs of the Italian SME involved in the concept of Industry 4.0, regarding the acquisition of competences and training of the personnel.

According to Politecnico the most meaningful evidence of this research, showing this need, is that 62% of interviewed companies have participated to training courses and seminars. More in details, companies are involving their managers and workers in e-Learning courses or Webinars (interactive seminars in Internet).

In particular, these training technologies are used quite exclusively in chemical industry or in other fields where health is more endangered
